Frank Lampard’s side have shown serious improvements in recent weeks, having now kept a clean sheet in their last five successive matches, and can move into the top four with a victory.
It’s been a different story for Sheffield United so far, though, with Chris Wilder’s side taking just one point from their opening seven games. Furthermore, the Blades have only scored three goals in total and desperately need a result to kickstart their season. Follow all the action below live:
50 min
Fernandes is booked for catching Sigurdsson on the ankle.
49 min
Sigurdsson’s ball in is poor and Wan-Bissaka heads clear.
48 min
Everton have upped things at the start of the half. They’ve clearly been given a bit of a telling off from Ancelotti. Calvert-Lewin does really well to latch onto a long ball and win a free kick just outside the box on the left.
46 min
Shaw makes an important block to stop a Doucoure shot after good work from Sigurdsson.
Half-time
That’s it for the first half. United will be pleased with how it’s gone, particularly having fallen behind early on. A brace from Fernandes - although the second at first appeared to be Rashford’s - has put Solskjaer’s side in front, and they’ve looked in control from then on.
45+4 min
Allan goes into the book for a late challenge on Fred.
45+2 min
Nothing comes of the set piece. It’s been a frustrating half for Everton.
