Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the perfect start when he hammered home a second minute penalty after Moussa Sissoko was adjudged to have handballed the ball in the area. A streaker interrupted proceedings before Divock Origi sealed the win late on with a smart finish.

Mohamed Salah on BT Sport: "Everyone is happy now i am glad to play it and play 90 minutes, it's best to win the game especially when the team was unbelievable today. I like it anyway now (VAR). I sacrificed a lot in my career.
"I have sacrificed a lot for my career, to come from a village to go to Cairo, and to be an Egyptian at this level is unbelievable for me."
Trent Alexander-Arnold: "It's hard to put into words what has just happened. The season we've had we've deserved it more than anyone. The run we've had. We've been dominated the main parts but we've shown what a good side we are.
"When we look back we're not going to think it was a sluggish game. It's hard to think of myself as a legend, I'm just a normal lad from Liverpool."
