Premier League match preview: Cardiff v Liverpool

Follow the latest updates live as Liverpool look to return to the top of the Premier League table as they take on relegation-threatened Cardiff City.

After reaching the Champions League semi-finals with ease in mid-week, Liverpool return to domestic duties looking to re-take their place at the top of the table, following Manchester City’s victory over Tottenham on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s side will have played a game more than City come the end of the day, but with the Manchester derby next week, Liverpool can ill-afford to drop any points.

Cardiff pose a serious threat to Liverpool though after their 2-0 win over Brighton in mid-week reignited their survival chances, and a victory would incredibly draw them level with the Seagulls with three games to play. Follow the live action below.

What time does it start?

Cardiff vs Liverpool kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 21 April.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.

"It was really hard, they did not put water on the pitch before the game," goalscorer Wijnaldum says after Liverpool's 2-0 win over Cardiff.

"We controlled the game," the Dutchman adds.

I wonder how many Arsenal fans would want to see this after Palace ended Arsenal's run of 10 successive home league wins.

"This Liverpool side never looks nervous," Jamie Carragher has said, and they showed more steel at the Cardiff City Stadium today.

"I thought Mane was outstanding today. He is more physical than most defenders are," says Souness.

A brilliant performance from the Senegalese today, and he led the line brilliantly today.

Thank you for joining us today in what was a thrilling day of Premier League football.

Everton thrashed Manchester United 4-0 at Goodison Park as the visitors lost their fifth successive away game.

Arsenal however could not take advantage of Solskjaer's men's slip up and were beaten 3-2 at home by Crystal Palace.

The biggest winners of the day were Liverpool, who went back to the top of the league with a 2-0 win at Cardiff.

Make sure to keep an eye out for reports and reaction to all of today's games.

Have a nice rest of the Easter weekend.
