Premier League match preview: Cardiff v Liverpool

Follow the latest updates live as Liverpool look to return to the top of the Premier League table as they take on relegation-threatened Cardiff City.

After reaching the Champions League semi-finals with ease in mid-week, Liverpool return to domestic duties looking to re-take their place at the top of the table, following Manchester City’s victory over Tottenham on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s side will have played a game more than City come the end of the day, but with the Manchester derby next week, Liverpool can ill-afford to drop any points.

Cardiff pose a serious threat to Liverpool though after their 2-0 win over Brighton in mid-week reignited their survival chances, and a victory would incredibly draw them level with the Seagulls with three games to play. Follow the live action below.

What time does it start?

Cardiff vs Liverpool kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 21 April.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.

No controversy here as Morrison hauls down Salah after seeing his clearance blocked.

GOAL! Cardiff 0-2 Liverpool (Milner 81')

In no doubt here, as Milner slots the ball into the corner.

Arsenal have had 74% of the possession but it is Palace who have had more attempts and more goals more importantly as we enter the final seven minutes.

Is there a last-minute twist here?

Kouyate gets his shot away but it is claimed by Leno.

Then somehow, Mustafi is booked for diving in his own half.

Vicente Guaita does well here, pawing away Ozil's cross from the onrushing Iwobi.

Three minutes here for Arsenal.

Great save from Etheridge there, as Salah connects with his knee but does not get enough on it.

Huge chance for Iwobi!

The Nigerian is fed the ball by Guendouzi in a good area but he sidefoots straight at Guaita.

A return to the top of the league for the visitors, in what wasn't a straightforward game for Liverpool.

But goals from Wijnaldum and Milner have ensured Liverpool have returned to the top of the league.

All the pressure reverts to the Manchester derby now.

Full Time: Arsenal 2-3 Crystal Palace

A thriller at the Emirates which has gone the way of the visitors.

The goals from Benteke, Zaha and MacArthur saw the Eagles take the points.

Goals from Ozil and Aubameyang brought Arsenal back into the game but that is a severe dent in their hopes for the top four.

Emery hasn't been helped by depleted defensive options and Xhaka and Ramsey's absences, but he will need to find a solution quickly ahead of the game at Wolves on Wednesday.
