The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

ANOTHER CHANCE! It's one-way traffic, and Spurs should be ahead. Son has acres of space to pick out the run of Solanke, who is unmarked at the back post. Tottenham's new striker dives to head low, but can only find the safe hands of Hermansen. Another opportunity goes amiss.

SAVE! Tottenham follow up that Bentancur chance with another fizzing effort as Sarr tries his luck from a tight angle. Hermansen sees the right-footed drive from a long way out, though, and parries clear with little difficulty.

OFF THE LINE! Son attempts to progress down the left wing but Fatawu is soon across to concede another corner. Maddison, again greeted by a mix of jeers and applause, crosses towards the near post this time. Bentancur flicks and somehow Ndidi clears off the line as it looks to be going into the bottom-right corner!

Justin is forced into conceding the first corner of the match on the left flank. Former Fox Maddison goes across to take, delivering towards the back post, where Ndidi rises highest to head comfortably clear.

Son hugs the touchline on the left-hand side, perhaps content to play on the flank rather than as a makeshift forward after the addition of Solanke. A Tottenham free-kick in the middle briefly interrupts their spell on the ball, though normal service resumes with Romero and Van de Ven probing at the back.

Every Leicester pass is met with a roar as the returning top-flight side attempt to make their early mark. Vicario comes out of his goal to intervene, however, dancing around a couple of Foxes before Spurs fail to hold possession.

The big news for the visitors is that Solanke starts up top, making his competitive debut after a big-money move from Premier League rivals Bournemouth. The former Cherries man scored 19 times in the competition last term, and will be supported by Son and Johnson, the latter winger who Cooper worked closely with at Forest previously. That attacking front three means Werner, Richarlison and Kulusevski settle for a place on the bench, with Postecoglou boasting numerous game-changes from the substitutes should they be required.

Cooper hands out two Leicester debuts in his first starting XI of the new campaign. De Cordova-Reid, signed from Fulham, starts on the flank, while Brighton loanee Buonanotte also comes in from the off. Veteran striker Vardy is fit enough to lead the line, with youthful deputy Cannon settling for a place among the substitutes. There is plenty of Premier League experience in this side, too, with Vestergaard, Winks and Ndidi all familiar faces in the Foxes team. However, can they cope with a top-four chasing Spurs?
