Everton vs Tottenham LIVE: Result and reaction from Premier League after late drama
Cristian Stellini takes charge of Spurs in their first game since Conte’s departure against Sean Dyche’s Toffees
Tottenham Hotspur begin life after Antonio Conte with a trip to face Everton this evening.
Spurs elected to move on from the Italian manager during the international break a week after Conte labelled the club’s players as lacking in “fight” and “desire” in an explosive press conference that seemed destined to end his time in north London.
Interim boss Cristian Stellini has recent touchline experience, covering for Conte during a health-related absence earlier in the season, but faces a tough test first up against an Everton side strengthened under Sean Dyche.
With eight sides appearing to be in the relegation battle, a point or more against a visiting side in transition seems feasible and could be vital.

For the second game running, Spurs squander a lead in a draw, but it is enough to lift them above Manchester United and into fourth place. Next up for them is Brighton and Hove Albion at home. That point is also enough to move Everton out of the relegation zone and into 15th. They travel to United on Saturday.

10-man Everton come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against 10-man Spurs. It was a game that was fairly evenly matched for just under an hour before Doucoure, in a moment of madness, received a straight red card after hitting Kane in the face. 10 minutes later, Keane caught Romero to give away a penalty that Kane confidently slotted home. Despite having a goal and man advantage at that point, Spurs started to sit back and saw themselves go down to 10 when the substitute, Lucas, caught Keane with a poor late challenge. Keane was involved again as he scored a stunning long-range equaliser to snatch a late point.

Spurs have one last chance to put it in the box as they win a corner and Perisic swing it into the box. Simms is there at the near post to clear his lines, and it gets a loud cheer from the home fans.
