Everton vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction tonight
Demarai Gray hit a screamer in stoppage time to earn all three points for Everton over Arsenal after Richarlison cancelled out Martin Odegaard’s opener
Demarai Gray smashed home a long-range strike in the second minute of stoppage time to earn Everton a 2-1 victory over Arsenal and end the team’s eight-match winless run in the English Premier League on Monday. The winger cut in from the left and took aim with a fierce shot that flew in off the inside of the post, completing Everton‘s comeback after Richarlison’s equalizer in the 79th. It sparked scenes of jubilation at Goodison Park on a night there was a small protest by home fans inside the stadium at the board’s running of the club. It looked like Martin Odegaard’s volley in the second minute of first-half injury time was going to win the game for Arsenal, which was looking to climb back into fifth place with a victory. The visitors rode their luck, with Richarlison having two goals — a header in the 43rd and a low finish in the 57th — ruled out by video review because of marginal offside decisions. The Brazil forward kept plugging away and got his reward when he headed home a rebound after another powerful shot from Gray was tipped onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. It was Everton‘s first win since Sept. 25 and moved the team eight points clear of the relegation zone. In the 27th minute of the game, a section of Everton fans left their seats to signal their unhappiness at the board amid the club’s 27th season without a trophy Some of the fans were seen making their way toward the exits inside Goodison as play continued.

41 mins: Arsenal haven’t been able to get the ball into the forwards. I’m not sure if Lacazette has even touched the ball. Odegaard tries something different and floats a pass over the top but it goes over the head of Lacazette and bounces nicely for Pickford to collect.

38 mins: There hasn’t been a great deal of action in front of goal. No shots on target from either team yet and the pace of the game is meandering at best.
Arsenal win a corner that Martinelli curls into the middle of the box. Pickford comes out to punch the ball away and knocks it as far as Granit Xhaka. He looks to shoot but the whistle goes for a foul on the Everton goalkeeper.

35 mins: Everton look the most likely side to break this deadlock. Gray swings another cross into the Arsenal box and Richarlison flicks it on looking for Gordon. His pass is intercepted but the ball rolls back to the Brazilian who drives towards the byline before cutting another pass back into the middle. Gordon has dropped back though and Ben White recovers the ball before clearing the Arsenal lines.

32 mins: Yerry Mina’s return to the Everton starting XI is a short one. He seems to have tweaked something when he lunged at Demarai Gray’s cross into the box and now he’s going off. Mason Holgate is the man to replace him.
Everton 0 - 0 Arsenal
30 mins: Ben Godfrey is a lucky man. Allan tackles Tomiyasu on the Arsenal right wing just as Godfrey comes flying in to challenge himself. Tomiyasu goes to ground and Godfrey lands straight on his chin with his right foot.
VAR takes a look at the incident as a potential red card offence but no further action is taken. We’ve seen those kind of incidents go either way.

27 mins: Almost! Everton win a corner and play it short. Gray takes control of the ball and fires a sharp cross into the six-yard box. Yerry Mina throws himself at the ball but it narrowly evades him and goes wide.
The talked about mass exit protest from the Everton fans is more of a slight trickle. There are a few fans leaving but nothing too major.

26 mins: Close! Gabriel gets lucky after giving the ball away to Gray. He passes it up towards Doucoure but a deflection knocks the ball into the path of Richarlison. Doucoure makes a run into the box and collects the pass. He turns and scuffs a shot at goal that Aaron Ramsdale watches roll safely wide of the left-hand post.

23 mins: After speaking to the physios Saka is back on his feet and will play on. He returns to the pitch with a chorus of boos following him from the Everton fans.
Everton 0 - 0 Arsenal
20 mins: Mikel Arteta is gesturing emphatically on the sidelines urging his players to step up the intensity. Saka is given the ball on the right wing and he gets tackled by Godfrey and goes to ground with a cry of pain.
It isn’t entirely clear what Saka’s issue is but the medical staff have been called on.
