From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Serie A leaders Juventus welcome Roma to Turin as the first of three games for Massimiliano Allegri's side in the next seven days before the winter break.
Juventus find themselves 22 points above Roma in the table, and their home draw to Genoa remains the only blemish on their otherwise perfect league record this season.
Eusebio Di Francesco's team meanwhile have lost all of their previous seven visits to the stadium and have won just twice in their last eight league games, the latest of which came against Genoa last weekend.

Player to watch…
Cristiano Ronaldo: The Portuguese decided the Turin derby in favour of his side with a well-taken penalty against Torino last weekend. It was his 12th goal in all competitions since joining the club from Real Madrid in the summer, and ensured that Juventus ground out a victory despite a lacklustre performance to extend their lead over second-placed Napoli to 11 points.

(Odds provided by 888 Sport)
52 min: Juventus 1-0 Roma
Steven Nzonzi is a lucky boy here. He brings down Paulo Dybala and it looks like a bookable offence, but the Frenchman sees no punishment for his tackle.
Ronaldo then blazes over expecting the referee to bring it back for the freekick, but a goal kick is the decision given.
56 min: Juventus 1-0 Roma
Max Allegri has been urging a bit of calm from his players after this improvement from Roma in this half seems to have slightly startled the hosts.
Alex Sandro and Ronaldo are still a threat though, and the duo combine but the latter can only head the Brazilian's cross way over the bar.
59 min: Juventus 1-0 Roma
Wojciech Szczesny has been largely untroubled tonight, and his comfortable evening continues as he easily collects Fazio's header from a corner.
No such luxuries from Olsen though, and he is required to pull off a wonderful one-handed save to deny Ronaldo from Dybala's cross.
61 min: Juventus 1-0 Roma
Whisper it quietly, but this may not be Ronaldo's night.
From the following corner, the Portuguese thinks he's scored from a few yards out, but the Swedish keeper denies him again before the rebound is cleared.
And Roma have even been caught slacking on that in the last few minutes...
65 min: Juventus 1-0 Roma
Juventus' frustrations are growing as they have conceded a number of fouls in good attacking positions for them in the last few minutes.
Time for a change?
71 min: Juventus 1-0 Roma
Substitution for Juventus, who bring off Miralem Pjanic for Emre Can, while Cengiz Under is replaced by Perotti for the visitors.
73 min: Juventus 1-0 Roma
Strong reaction to the disallowed goal. Giorgio Chiellini makes little contact with Olsen before heading home after a corner, but the goal is disallowed. Agree?
