Jurgen Klopp reflects on positives as Liverpool ease past Porto to Champions League quarter final

Liverpool will play Premier League leaders Manchester City in an all-English Champions League quarter-final.

Anfield will hold the first leg of the quarter-final tie, which will be played on April 4 with the second leg to be held on April 10.

Jurgen Klopp’s side reached the quarter-final stage after hammering Porto in the Round of 16, with a resounding 5-0 victory at the Estadio do Dragao ahead of a routine goalless draw at Anfield.

Bayern's draw against Sevilla looks an easy one on paper but recent history suggests otherwise. Indeed, the Germans have gone out to Spanish opposition every year since winning the Champions League final in 2013. Will they follow a similar fate this year?

Food for thought: Both Liverpool and Man City face derbies in between their CL quarter-final against each other. Will Klopp and Guardiola play it safe in those domestic ties and hold back? Or, will they gamble and field strong sides?

Georginio Wijnaldum has had his say on Liverpool's draw against Manchester City.

“No [I don’t want to play Man City], not now, I don't want to play an English team now," he told ESPN. “To be fair, we played Manchester City two times and I think the first game we had a red card so that was a difficult game.

“But the second game at home, it was a good game for us. I also think the supporters enjoyed it so even if we play Man City, I think we have two good games.”
