Ollie Watkins scored a late winner against his former club as Aston Villa came from behind to win 2-1 at 10-man Brentford on Sunday.
Villa started brightly but spurned several first-half chances with Matty Cash and Jacob Ramsey both putting efforts wide from close range.
Instead, the Bees broke the deadlock just before half-time through Keane Lewis-Potter, who fired home for his first Premier League goal.
Brentford’s Ben Mee was sent off after 71 minutes for a reckless lunge on substitute Leon Bailey, after the intervention of VAR.
Villa made the numerical advantage count six minutes later when Bailey found Alex Moreno unmarked at the back post to level the contest with a cool header.
And the visitors took the lead after 85 minutes through Watkins, who nodded home Ramsey’s corner and sparked a goalmouth scuffle after celebrating in front of his former fans.
Villa’s Boubacar Kamara was also sent off for grabbing Yehor Yarmoliuk by the neck in added time as an entertaining game ended in chaotic fashion.

What a save! Brentford have an opportunity from a corner and Ghoddos works it short before it's delivered into the box by Damsgaard. It finds the head of Wissa who powers it towards goal, but Martinez makes a superb stop to deny the striker. The Argentine goalkeeper reacted quickly and palmed it away from danger.

Brentford are defending superbly at the moment and aren't giving any of the opposition a second to think about anything when they receive the ball. Watkins is the latest player to control a pass and be pounced on by multiple Villa defenders. Frank will be impressed with how organised his side are at the back.

So close! A corner comes into the box from Ramsey and Kamara attacks it from deep. His header flies towards the top corner but it whistles past the post and out for a goal-kick. Unfortunately, he also collides with Wissa when going for the ball, and he's now receiving treatment for a head injury.

Diego Carlos shifts the ball out wide to Cash who plays it back inside. It eventually finds Moreno on the left and he sends a pass into the penalty area for Ramsey. The young midfielder tries to find a team-mate with a cross, but it's intercepted and Brentford are able to clear. Villa are struggling to create anything at the moment, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see a change from Emery soon.
Brentford vs Aston Villa
Emery's side have enjoyed 65.7 per cent of the possession since the second half got under way. Brentford appear happy for the opposition to have it while they stay organised defensively, and it's working so far. The Bees are staying patient, hoping to hit Villa on the break.
Brentford vs Aston Villa
Villa work the ball patiently just outside the Brentford penalty area, but Frank's side are staying resolute and they can't find a breakthrough. There's been a lack of creativity from the away team since the second half, and their opposition are sitting deeper and deeper, hoping to hold on to their slender lead.

It's been a slow start to the second half for both sides, as Wissa and Torres collide just outside Villa penalty area. Both players are down at the moment and the referee has stopped play temporarily. However, they are back on their feet and able to continue.
