Follow all the action from Emirates Stadium
Follow live coverage as Arsenal face Brighton & Hove Albion today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:
Arsenal vs Brighton & Hove Albion
The two unbeaten records continue as this game ends 1-1 at the Emirates. In a first half of relative half chances, the hosts broke out just before the break as Kai Havertz lobbed Bart Verbruggen excellently after Bukayo Saka played the German through after beating Lewis Dunk in a tussle. The second period's headline-snatching moment was Declan Rice's first career red card, after impeding a Joel Veltman quickly-taken free-kick for a second yellow. Brighton then equalised less than 10 minutes later, as Dunk found redemption with a smart cutting ball to Yankuba Minteh. David Raya was smart to the initial effort, but couldn't stop Joao Pedro sliding home. The boos rung out at full-time, yet Arsenal only have themselves to blame with these dropped points. The Gunners failed to make the most of their 2.04 xG, while Brighton worked up to an xG of 1.97. Thank you for joining us this afternoon, goodbye!

The free-kick is low and Arsenal block. Brighton wanted handball there.

White blocks an Estupinan cross from the left. The corner is punched away by Raya. Saka can't play in Martinelli and the break is over before it can begin. The next phase sees Rutter botch a header before Estupinan lashes one over. Speculative.

Baleba squirms through the Arsenal defence with a leggy run. Raya is brave and rushes out to claim the ball.

Baleba has two goes! The first one wipes Gabriel out as he blocks it with his body. The second sails hopelessly over. For any readers in the North London area, check your back gardens.
