England have cruised to an eight-wickets victory over Bangladesh to continue their perfect start at the T20 World Cup. After Eoin Morgan’s side crushed West Indies in their opening match with a blistering display of bowling which saw them all out for 55, England were again impressive as they restricted Bangladesh to 124.

Moeen Ali removed Bangladesh’s openers with back-to-back deliveries, while Liam Livingstone took out the experienced pair of Mushfiqur Rahim and captain Mahmudullah just as they were beginning to build momentum. Chris Woakes yielded just 12 runs before Tymal Mills took consecutive wickets at the end of the innings to take his total to three.

Given a target of 125, Jason Roy smashed 61 runs from 38 balls alongside Jos Buttler (18) and Dawid Malan (28 not out) to secure a comfortable victory that sees England top Group 1 ahead of Saturday’s clash against Australia. Follow all the reaction and latest updates from the T20 World Cup below.

15th over: Bangladesh 83-6 (Mahedi 0, Nurul 5)

Livingstone skips another couple of deliveries to good length as the 15th over comes to an end and Mahedi Hasan takes to the crease. Tymal Mills comes in for the next over as England look to wrap this up.

WICKET! Mahmudullah c Woakes b Livingstone (Bangladesh 83-6)

Sensing the need to go for it, Mahmudullah takes a swing at a Livingstone delivery to the off-side. He completely skies it, though, as Woakes takes a simple catch in the in-field. Bangladesh lose their captain.

14th over: Bangladesh 80-5 (Mahmudullah 18, Nurul 5)

Jordan slips to 0-15 after bowling another wide, as Nurul adds a couple. But England remain in a good position.

13th over: Bangladesh 76-5 (Mahmudullah 17, Nurul 3)

To add to Bangladesh’s frustration, Afif had hit Livingstone for four just a couple of balls earlier. Nurul comes in and picks up three runs on Livingstone’s final two balls of the over.

WICKET! Afif run out (Bangladesh 73-5)

Disaster again for Bangladesh! Mahmudullah hit a ball to square leg and Bangladesh looked for a second as if they were about to benefit from an England misfield. But suddenly the Bangladesh captain and Afif were caught in no-man’s land as they miscommunicated on whether to go for it, and Buttler was able to hit the stumps from close range.

12th over: Bangladesh 66-4 (Mahmudullah 15, Afif 1)

Mahmudullah takes a wild swing at a low ball from Wakes and must been panicking as he missed the ball, only for it to to run on to Buttler.

An excellent over from Woakes is soured only by an over-throw that gifts Bangladesh a run on the final ball.

11th over: Bangladesh 63-4 (Mahmudullah 13, Afif 0)

Mushfiqur goes for 29 as Livingstone enjoys an opening over of 1-3. A crucial over in this innings.

WICKET! Mushfiqur b Livingstone (Bangladesh 63-3)

Big shouts from England for LBW, and it’s given after a review! Livingstone, with the ball in hand hand for the first, makes a full toss and traps Mushfiqur at the crease. The batsman tried a reverse sweep but replays showed he missed the ball and the ball was inline when it hit his pads. The decision is reversed and Livingstone gets a big wicket for England just as Bangladesh were gathering steam.

10th over: Bangladesh 60-3 (Mahmudullah 12, Mushfiqur 27)

While we pause for drinks, here’s the highlights of the first half of the innings: Rashid’s over-the-shoulder catch to dismiss Shakib.

10th over: Bangladesh 60-3 (Mahmudullah 12, Mushfiqur 27)

Bangladesh survive a review on the first ball of the over after Morgan thought he had run out Mushfiqur. The replays showed he’d clearly made it home, however. Mahmudullah steps into a short ball from Mills for a double before the fast bowler forces him back, but the Bangladesh captain bats it away for a single. Mushfiqur then lifts a short ball over Buttler for four, before he evades the England fielders with a square shot to the offside. A good over for Bangladesh, and this looks to be a promising partnership for them.
