Donald Trump has stirred controversy by accusing House Democrats of failing to tackle antisemitism in their ranks, saying it was “shameful” the opposition had not taken a “stronger stand”.
The president appeared to be exploiting divisions exposed by congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s criticism of Israeli lobby groups in Washington, which has seen her spar with fellow representatives including New York veteran Nita Lowey while the House dawdles over whether to stage a vote on a resolution condemning prejudice against the Jewish faith outright.
President Trump has also threatened to stop “the Fake News Networks” covering the 2020 presidential election debates on a day his former campaign manager Paul Manafort is sentenced after being found guilty of bank and tax fraud.

With the latest judicial confirmations, Donald Trump has now reportedly added 90 judges onto US courts nationwide, where they will serve in lifetime appointments.
The vast majority of those are young conservatives.

Paul Manafort has a recommended prison sentence of 19.5 to 24 years, according to reports, meaning the 70-year-old former campaign chairman could very well spend the rest of his life behind bars.

As Paul Manafort faces a possible life sentence, the president’s former attorney Michael Cohen has released the following statement through his lawyer Lanny Davis discussing the possible pardon he had sought from Donald Trump after his home and offices were raided by the FBI:
The judge presiding over the case has reminded everyone in the courtroom that Paul Manafort is there to be sentenced for a range of financial felonies — none of them having to do with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election interference.
“He is not before the court for anything having to do with colluding with the Russian government,” the judge said on Thursday.
