Lumps of snow are falling off the roof of Wembley stadium and onto the pitch below, where Newcastle and Tottenham are facing off.
Road conditions around Basingstoke Hospital are so treacherous that patients are asked to avoid the building "unless absolutely necessary.
Staff at the hospital have slept there overnight to keep the facility running.
Over the last two days Highways England have deployed 500 winter treatment vehicles covering 4300 miles of motorways and roads, according to a spokesperson for the organisation.
Overnight road surface temperature in Kent is likely to fall to -5C, according to Kent County Council.
Primary roads in the area will be gritted between 4pm today and 4am on Sunday morning.
Skiers have been warned not to try out their skills on pavements or streets.
"Pavement users may not have the ability to stop or turn should you be on course for collision," said Daniel Loots, from the Ski Club of Great Britain.
"Being towed by a vehicle can also put the driver at risk of being fined for dangerous driving."
He added that those keen to try out the snow should head to parks or nearby countryside.
