At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

A witness has spotted a car being escorted by a police motorcade through Windsor with with "pink blankets" placed at the window , according to reports.

Tamoor Ali told The Sun he saw the Bentley driving slowly through the streets before turning down a road towards the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's home in Frogmore Cottage.

He says the sighting has convinced him that Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby girl and that the couple were making their way home from hospital.

"We saw a vehicle that had pink paraphernalia at the back of the windscreen go past - it was going very slowly over speed bumps," Mr Ali said.

"It seemed like someone was in there who couldn't handle speedbumps - a baby."

It has just been announced that Prince Harry has postponed his scheduled trip to the Netherlands.

The Duke of Sussex was meant to travel to Amsterdam on 8 May, but the engagement has now been postponed due to "logistical planning", according to a representative for the palace.

"Due to logistical planning for the traveling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone the Duke of Sussex's scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8th May 2019," a spokesperson said. "The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague on Thursday 9th May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned."

According to royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills, the decision to postpone Prince Harry's trip to Amsterdam has to do with "not wanting to overshadow other trips next week", not the royal baby.

Prince Charles is scheduled to be in Germany next week, while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to travel to North Wales.

When the baby arrives, it will be seventh in line to the throne.

The newest royal will take its place behind its father Prince Harry, and its three cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The baby’s sex will not dictate its place in the line of succession, according to a change in law announced in March 2015, which ensured royal babies born after 28 October 2011 maintain their position in the line of succession, regardless of sex.

A YouGov survey has revealed Americans are divided regarding whether or not the newest royal should have American citizenship.

According to the survey results, 43 per cent of Americans say the child should have dual citizenship, while 27 per cent think he or she should not.
