Hamilton inherited the lead when the safety car was deployed due to a spin for Antonio Giovinazzi, with Valtteri Bottas already pitting where Hamilton had not. Behind them, a raging battle between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc ended in favour of the Ferrari man, but only after Verstappen was taken out of third when battling with Sebastian Vettel - who received a 10-second penalty for the collision.
Verstappen was able to salvage fifth place behind his Red Bull teammate Pierre Gasly, while Vettel finished down in 15th. Re-live the action below.

Lap 1: Hamilton is all over the back of Bottas but the Finn keeps hold of the lead as they reach Luffield. Vettel is up to fifth after getting past Gasly, while Norris is challenging Ricciardo for seventh as they go through Copse flat out side by side! Norris keeps his foot in it, and takes the position into Maggots!
Lap 2: Bottas makes an error as he locks up into Club at the end of the first lap, and that puts Hamilton right on his gearbox through the first three corners. Both Haas' meanwhile are in big trouble, with Grosjean in the pits and Magnussen limping back to the pits. Replays show the two teammates collided with each other as they came onto the Wellington Straight.
Lap 4: Hamilton has his first run at Bottas into Stowe but the leader positions his car perfectly to defend. Hamilton has DRS though and on the fourth lap he has a run down the Wellington Straight. Bottas goes deep to defend, and Hamilton sweeps around the outside of Luffield to take the lead!
The crowd roar in celebration, but Bottas isn't giving it up and gets back past on the run into Copse to retake the lead!
Lap 5: Hamilton's dropped back a touch and is out of DRS range, and he may have gone into tyre management mode as the constant attacks on Bottas was taking a lot out of his Pirellis. The gap is out to 1.2s.
Lap 6: Scrap that, Hamilton must have taken a quick breather as he puts in the fastest lap of the race so far to move back into DRS range.
Lap 6 standings:
1. Bottas
2. Hamilton +0.8s
3. Leclerc +3.2s
4. Verstappen +3.7s
5. Vettel +5.0s
6. Gasly +6.0s
7. Norris +12.9s
8. Ricciardo +13.7s
9. Hulkenberg +15.1s
10. Albon +16.2s
Lap 7: Magnussen brings the Haas back into the pits and has retired from the race, with that damage from the first-lap collision with teammate Grosjean the cause.
Lap 9: Leclerc is holding up Verstappen, which is allowing Vettel and Gasly to close in on them to make the battle for third a four-horse race. We're heading into pit stop range for the two-stoppers. with the softs tyres expected to last around 13 laps.
Lap 10: Hamilton still has DRS but he's not able to do anything about Bottas for now, with the Mercs split by just half a second out in front and pulling away from Leclerc on the medium tyres. Verstappen dummies Leclerc into Stowe, and Leclerc shuts the door in a way that he didn't last time out in Austria.
