Strictly Come Dancing 2020 has been a shorter but no less entertaining run of the BBC competition.
The series began in September having adhered to Covid safety regulations, and has entertained viewers weekly since.
As with every series to date, there have been ups, downs and bizarre performances (here’s looking at Max George and Dianne Buswell’s dance to the Simpsons theme).
With the final four in place, the stage was set for what was being touted as the closest finale in years – and ended in the most heartwarming manner possible.

That’s it for the first round of dances! And the lines are now open, so vote if you want to.
It’s cool that these dances have been choreographed and learnt in the past week when I’ve done *checks notes* nothing.
From our expert, Emma Bullimore:
“After eight years on the show, Janette finally had the chance to choreograph a showdance. Wow, she didn't squander the opportunity. Gifted with one of the best dancers in this year's show, she threw her best moves at him in a disco extravaganza to ‘Boogie Wonderland’. Lifts, spins and armography to make Craig squeal, it was frenetic at times but action-packed. The Charleston/street dance break was electrifying, and that could well be a Glitterball-snatching performance. We wait to see what Oti and Bill can come up with.”
Our expert opinion on Jamie’s show dance from Emma Bullimore:
“After endless dance-offs, it's unlikely that even the most spectacular showdance could have won the show for Jamie and Karen. But it didn't stop them from trying. It was an energetic routine with a lot of Blues Brothers-style pointing, and wedding disco bouncing. Disappointing to see Jamie flying through the air at the start, a trick favoured by the likes of Ann Widdecombe and Russell Grant to waste time and it was a tough ask to follow HRVY. Ultimately, this was an endearing if not technically impressive number. Props to Jamie for making it this far.”
