The drive to tackle food poverty will be supported by designer shoppers and outdoor joggers this Christmas as luxury brands rally behind our Help the Hungry appeal.

British fashion icon Mulberry aims to donate the equivalent of 100,000 meals to charity The Felix Project by raffling off some of its most iconic designer bags, spurring on our campaign to get food to those in need across the UK.

The £1 raffle is set to take place across the first three weeks of December.

Felix will then use the funds to gather surplus, high quality food and redistribute it to organisations including charity With Compassion, who have been using it to offer 1,000 hot meals a day to those in need as part of The Independent’s campaign.

Meanwhile, those looking to keep up their fitness ahead of the festive period are being called upon to take part in a string of daily sponsored jogs in support of Felix.

The 12 days of Christmas virtual challenge set up by With Compassion will see people run or walk for an hour every day from 13 December up to Christmas Eve, with participants linked to one another by running club brand Onetrack.

Joggers who pay the £10 minimum entry fee will also be guided along by one of the Onetrack’s coaches, who formerly worked for celebrity-backed luxury gym firm Equinox.
