Death toll from Cyclone Freddy passes 200 in Malawi and Mozambique
More than 200 people have died in Malawi and Mozambique as record-breaking Cyclone Freddy triggers floods and landslides.
The storm has devastated southern Africa, making a rare second landfall over the region with the death toll expected to rise further.
Malawi president Lazarus Chakwera declared a "state of disaster" in the southern region of the country.
The UN secretary general's spokesperson said aid operations were being hindered by downed power and communication lines.
Freddy is expected to exit back to the sea late on Wednesday, 15 March.
