Northern lights captured dancing in sky above Oxfordshire in rare sighting
A rare sighting of the northern lights over Oxfordshire was caught on camera as the stunning display returned for a second night over the UK.
This timelapse footage captured on the night of Monday, 27 February, shows the Aurora Borealis in all its glory.
Usually, the northern lights can only be seen from Scotland and parts of northern England, but those elsewhere have been treated to the experience this time.
According to the Royal Museums Greenwich, the Aurora Borealis is the result of “atoms and molecules in our atmosphere colliding with particles from the Sun”.
