Michigan police handcuff Black realtor after mistaking him for intruder
Police are defending their actions after putting a black real estate agent in handcuffs when they mistook him for an intruder.
Eric Brown was providing a tour around the Michigan-based house to a potential home buyer and his 15-year-old son, all three of whom are Black.
Upon looking outside they saw armed police officers surrounding the property.
Bodycam footage shows the officers uncuffing the professional after he proved how his realtor key worked.
According to the Wyoming, Michigan, Department of Public Safety, a neighbour had called authorities, saying a suspect arrested at the property a week prior had returned to the scene.
