Kate Gill is The Independent's Video News Editor. She joined the paper in 2021 with a determination to expand the breadth and quality of video, on-site and off-platform. Kate was inducted into The Media Leader's Future 100 Club: Class of 2023 and was named the Daily Star's Reporter of The Year in 2019. Her career thus far has seen her live in New York, London and Birmingham. Kate's work has been published by the likes of National Geographic, The Times, The Washington Post, Discovery, ITV, USA Today, Inside Edition and The New Zealand Herald.
