CCTV appears to show moment deadly fire at Mexican migrant centre breaks out
CCTV footage appears to show the moment a fire, that killed 38 people, broke out at a Mexican immigration centre on Monday, 27 March.
In the footage, the fire appears to break out in the top left-hand side of the frame before quickly filling the room with smoke.
Mexico’s interior secretary, Adan Augusto Lopez, confirmed the authenticity of the video to local media.
Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador claimed the migrants started the fire in protest of being deported, but “never imagined that this would cause this terrible misfortune.”
