Leaked footage appears to show British F35 jet crashing into Mediterranean during HMS Queen Elizabeth carrier take-off

Leaked video allegedly captures the moment a F35 stealth jet crashes into the sea seconds after taking off from HMS Queen Elizabeth.

The CCTV reportedly captures the 17 November incident in which a pilot ejected during "routine flying operations in the Mediterranean".

In the clip, the ejected pilot’s parachute activates.

A MOD spokesperson told the Independent: “We are aware of a video circulating online. It is too soon to comment on the potential causes of this incident.

“The recovery efforts are ongoing and the Defence Accident Investigation Branch will report back their preliminary findings in due course.”
