Former BBC boss says it ‘undermined its own credibility’ by pulling Gary Lineker from air
A former BBC director-general has shared his take on Gary Lineker being axed from his regular spot hosting Match Of The Day.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Greg Dyke said he believes the move was “mistaken.”
He warned it could give the impression that the BBC bowed to government pressure.
Lineker came under fire for a tweet in which he compared the government’s small boats legislation to 1930s Germany.
