TikTok set to impose mandatory screen time limit for teenagers
TikTok has announced that the platform is taking steps to reduce the amount of time teenagers are spending on the app.
The app will soon impose an automatic daily screen time limit of one hour for users under 18 in a bid to address parents’ concerns.
Those under 13 will need a parent or guardian to enter a passcode to allow an extra 30 minutes, if they choose to.
Users between 13 and 18 will have to enter the passcode themselves after the hour is up, "requiring them to make an active decision" to keep scrolling.
