Long-lost 19th-century shipwreck found in Lake Huron intact with lifeboat attached
A long-lost shipwreck that went down in the 19th century has been found at the bottom of Lake Huron off the Michigan coast.
This amazing footage shows the near-intact ship sitting upright on the lake floor, hundreds of feet below the surface.
The lifeboat connected to the ship confirms the tragic story that the six sailors on board weren't able to free their lifeline in time.
Called the Ironton, the ship stands at 191 feet, and still has its three masts standing tall.
The NOAA shared this video, saying the Ironton was "magnificently preserved by the cold fresh water."
