School shooting survivor’s American Idol audition leaves Katy Perry in tears

Katy Perry was left enraged and in tears after an American Idol contestant revealed he was a school shooting survivor.

This video shows the moment Trey Louis told the judges how the 2018 shooting in Santa Fe led him to audition for the competition

"Our country has f***ing failed us," Perry said after becoming emotional hearing his story, adding: "This is not ok."

Louis sang a rendition of “Stone” by Whiskey Meyers for the panel, which also included Lionel Richie.
