From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Apple just updated every single one of its products. And released some new ones as well.

The company is holding its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, and kicked it off with its most wide-ranging event of the year.

As well as updating the software for all of its products, as it always does, the company showed off. That included updates to the iPad and Mac line – but most of all was the Siri speaker, a talking music system for the home.

Find full coverage on each of those releases – iOS 11, the new macOS, a new Siri and the HomePod speaker – below.

Please allow a moment for the liveblog to load.

Siri can also do translation now – you can ask it something in your local language (although it's only English for now), and it will read out what you said in a different accent.

Now we're onto the camera in the iPhone.

A load of huge changes to the way you can take photos – you can trim your live photos, edit pictures more neatly, and everything else.

There's a whole new control centre panel. It's all on one page! (It stopped being last time around, which was slightly annoying, and good to see Apple go back.)

Now we're onto the technologies, rather than the features. There's a lot small enhancements, like to Maps – which offers internal maps, for instance.

The home app has been updated. And – intriguingly – you can control your speakers from in it. That couldn't possibly be for the upcoming Siri speaker, could it?

Another intriguing and surely unrelated update: Apple Music.

There's new social features, for instance. You'll see little heads on each album if a person is listening to and like it. (Don't mention Ping.)

WE're hearing a lot about the App Store. This is the kind of thing that is very interesting to the developers in the audience, though it's not the kind of thing that will be immediately obvious or useful to normal people.
