My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.

Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.

Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

The Philadelphia Eagles have beaten the New England Patriots 41-33 to claim their first Super Bowl win.

In a record-setting shootout between Nick Foles of the Eagles, and Tom Brady, the Eagles backup quarterback led a pressure-packed 75-yard drive to the winning touchdown, 11 yards to Zach Ertz with 2:21 to go.

“If there's a word (it's) called everything,” Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said. “That's what it means to Eagles fans everywhere. And for Eagles fans everywhere, this is for them.”

“I felt calm. I mean, we have such a great group of guys, such a great coaching staff,” Foles - who won the game's Most Valuable Player award - said. “We felt confident coming in, and we just went out there and played football.”

The Patriots were looking to win back-to-back Super Bowls, after their stunning comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons last year.

The Eagles, meanwhile, headed into the game having been crowned NFC champions following a dominant 38-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

So it's back with Tommy Boy, the eternal superstar. He's got his team to the 30-yard line.

AND A WHOLE LOT FURTHER!

Chris Hogan catches an absolute bomb over Jalen Mills and New England are in dangerous territory.

Nope, they're in the end zone.

TOUCHDOWNNNNN PATRIOTS!

James White wiggled through for a touchdown and it's suddenly 15-12. Oh, Gostkowski's missed the extra point so it's gonna stay that way too.

What a wild first half - and we still have two minutes to go.

Here's that touchdown:

Very good

Ed Malyon5 February 2018 00:55

Score: Patriots 12 Eagles 15.

1:55 to go. Philadelphia have the ball. Justin Timberlake is warming up but there's plenty more action to come before he's bring Sexyback.

Ed Malyon5 February 2018 00:56

Corey Clement's big run sets up the Eagles in the red zone.

A big 3rd-and-goal goes to Jeffrey in the end zone. He wants PI but there's no flag.

Doug Pederson WILL GO FOR IT ON FOURTH DOWN.

It's 4th-and-goal, a huge moment in the Super Bowl and.... INSANE TRICK PLAY OH MY ACTUAL GOD WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

Wildcat to Clement, who hands it to Trey Burton and the tight end throws to.. Nick Foles.

A touchdown CAUGHT by Nick Foles.

22-12 to the Eagles.

The Pats can't get into field goal range and that is half-time, dear friends.

New England Patriots 12

Philadelphia Eagles 22

I won't be covering the half-time show because I need to nourish and hydrate myself, stretch my legs and write the beginnings of a match report but I'll give you a review once JT is finished, how does that sound?

Ed Malyon5 February 2018 01:11

This is incredible:

While Ed hydrates himself and prepares for the inevitable early match report-ruining Patriots comeback, this is Chris Stevenson taking over the second half.

Crowd seem to be appreciating Justin Timberlake - although if anyone wants my opinion, he peaked with his first single Cry Me a River.
