UFC results: Max Holloway ends Arnold Allen’s long win streak

Max Holloway halted Arnold Allen’s 12-fight win streak on Saturday, outpointing the Briton in the pair’s UFC Fight Night main event.
Former featherweight champion Holloway bounced back from his third loss to Alexander Volkanovski by beating Allen in Kansas City, where he was a unanimous-decision winner.
Meanwhile, Allen came up short as he looked to set up a title shot against reigning champion Volkanovski, landing numerous heavy strikes but failing to put down Hawaiian Holloway.
In fact, it was Allen who dropped to a knee in the frenzied final seconds of the fight, which Holloway won 49-46, 49-46, 48-47 on the scorecards.

The 34-year-old is 17-4 as a pro, and he is 2-2 in his last four fights.
Last time out, Quarantillo stopped Alexander Hernandez in the second round, four months ago.

Jacoby ends the round – and the fight – in control, but he likely needed a finish there.

An uppercut has Murzakanov retreating. He then comes forward with a single-leg takedown attempt, but Jacoby wriggles free.

Jacoby controls Murzakanov against the cage wall, then tries an elbow off the break.
The pair exchange punches out in the open, where Murzakanov drops Jacoby with a heavy left overhand behind the ear!
It had been a good round for Jacoby until that strike, which is followed by sustained offence from Murzakanov after Jacoby stands.
The American survives to the buzzer.

Murzakanov lands a body kick, but Jacoby fires off three straight punches over the top.
Murzakanov with a cross to the body, then one to the head. More punches from the Russian, before he shoots for a double-leg takedown.
Jacoby denies him, though, and reverses the position to hold Murzakanov against the fence.

Murzakanov drops Jacoby with a jab, then looks to pounce as the American stands. A knee just about gets through for the Russian.
There’s a scramble in which Murzakanov briefly attempts a guillotine choke, before the light-heavyweights separate. Jacoby then lands a clean one-two.
Murzakanov shouts at the American after the buzzer – I’m not sure why, to be honest – but Jacoby just laughs.

Russian Murzakanov is 12-0 as a pro. American Jacoby is 18-6-1. “U-S-A” is the chant early in this one.
Murzakanov gets out on the front foot, standing southpaw. Jacoby switches stances back and forth.
Murzakanov catches a kick, then tags Jacoby with a short left cross, before kicking low.
