Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Ishihara defeats Erosa via knockout at :34 of the 2nd round Teruto Ishihara: “I didn’t even worry about being nervous in my first UFC fight. I really want to fight on the UFC 200 card because I am not injured and I am willing to get out there and fight hard. The punch I threw is in my nature, it’s like getting girls.” Julian Erosa: “I really didn’t even fight like I normally do or like I train. I was too hesitant in the first and it didn’t go my way. When I came out in the second I wanted to put it on him more, but the next thing I knew I was coming up off the ground. I’m bigger and stronger than him so I figured I’d submit him, but he’s quick and I’m not going to take anything away from him. I just didn’t perform the way I normally do.”
