Karolina Pliskova was the final top-10 seed to be eliminated on Monday as she lost to Kiki Bertens in straight sets in one of the biggest shocks of the day.
That means the draw has opened up even more, with Serena Williams ominously creeping back to her best. The 25 seed faces Camila Giorgi second on Centre Court.

Williams get her act together and rattles through her service, notably firing down a 122mph serve - the fastest of the tournament so far in the women's singles.

After claiming the first point, Giorgi falls foul of another double fault to take the game to 15-15. She quickly recovers and draws three back-to-back errors from the American to take the first set in 35 minutes. Williams is in trouble here...

Williams takes her play to the net for the first time in the match and it pays off as she angles her return away from the Italian who found herself stranded on the other side of the court. From there, the former world No 1 pushes on and serves out the game in style. 1-0.

It's rare to see Williams overpowered but the Italian is doing just that. She fires down yet another biting serve which the American once again loops up in her return. The world No 52 takes her opportunity and smashes home the point with an overhead volley. Williams snatches back a point but Giorgi responds in style with a 117mph ace. Oosh.

Giorgi led 30-0 but Williams walked hard to overturn the deficit and take the game to 40-30. A snatched Giorgi return flew wide of the line to keep us on serve here on Centre Court.

Williams had a prime opportunity there to take this game to 30-0 but after being pushed out to the left by a barrage of shots from Giorgi, the American could only the find the net. But the former world No 1 held firm to move two break points clear and eventually got her breakthrough thanks to a whipped forehand winner.

Williams quickly moved up to 30-0 but a forehand return into the net offered Giorgi a shimmer of hope. After having a quick word with herself, the American kept her opponent under wraps to move further ahead in this set.

Giorgi makes a stand, notably impressing with a fizzing forehand winner into space that Williams was helpless to return. At 40-30, the world No 52 delivers a huge serve that Serena can only flap at in hope of finding court. She doesn't. Giorgi takes the game.
Williams 3-6 5-2 Giorgi*
The American gets so much kick off her second serve that Giorgi can only hit and hope on the return. Once again, Williams rattles through her service to put herself in reaching distance of claiming this second set.
