From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A vintage display from Roger Federer took him past Rafael Nadal into the Wimbledon 2019 final in an eagerly-anticipated first grass court match between the great rivals for 11 years on Friday.

The 40th career meeting between the golden duo with 38 Grand Slam titles between them, swung this way and that before Federer seized control to claim a 7-61-6 6-3 6-4 victory.

World number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic now stands between the 37-year-old Federer, the oldest finalist here since Ken Rosewall in 1974, and a record-equalling ninth Wimbledon title in Sunday's showpiece

A sumptuous volley by Bautista Agut gets Djokovic's applause, but the Spaniard then nets a forehand.

Deuce number 3. Vital game this is turning into...

Oh no! With Djokovic beaten, Bautista Agut's half-volley drifts wide.

BREAK POINT NO. 3...

Another break point brilliantly saved, with a forehand and smash to follow-up!

WHAT A HOLD OF SERVE!

Djokovic threw everything at him, but it still wasn't enough!

A forehand winner, and a serve and volley clinically executed with a gorgeous backhand drop volley, and Bautista Agut escapes.

"VAMOS!" he shouts again. His box are on their feet! Incredible stamina by the 31-year-old Spaniard.

A double fault from Djokovic at 30-15...

Two big serves, and assured follow-ups, means Djokovic holds to 30.

Pressure back on Bautista Agut.

Djokovic slips after a wrong-footer, and as opposed to his slip in the first set, he takes a tad longer to get up form this one.

Again though, no harm done.

Full recovery. Djokovic in the zone now, as he slides to his backhand to force Bautista Agut to hit a half volley, which the Serb returns.

BREAK POINT... the Spaniard is hanging by a thread.

DJOKOVIC BREAKS!

It was coming. Bautista Agut finally succumbs, and overhits.

Djokovic with the break in the fourth, is their any way back for the Spaniard here?

I said Bautista Agut needed to take his chance in the third set. He didn't, and despite his continued good form, Djokovic when he's in this mood is on simply another level!
