From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Roger Federer is safely through to the second round of Wimbledon despite dropping the first set to little-known South African Lloyd Harris.
The eight-times champion had a set taken off him in his first-round match at Wimbledon for only the second time in 17 years.
But Federer, the second seed, recovered to beat 22-year-old SW19 debutant Harris 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-2. Follow the live action below:

Angelique Kerber and Ashleigh Barty are through, beating Tatjana Maria and Saisai Zheng respectively in straight sets.
*Kyrgios 7-6(4) 3-6 7-6(10) 0-6 5-1 Thompson
KYRGIOS BREAKS!
Oh and he's a lucky, lucky boy! On break point, he hits a backhand return down the line which is heading out, but it clips the net and goes in!
Thompson throws his racket in disbelief... and now Kyrgios will serve for the match!
*Kyrgios 7-6(4) 3-6 7-6(10) 0-6 6-1 Thompson
KYRGIOS WINS!
A fantastic match! Kyrgios clinches it with a forehand half-volley, and both players embrace warmly at the net.
Wow, what a bizarre three and a half hours... Kyrgios goes into round two, where potentially Rafael Nadal awaits on Thursday!
BRIT ALERT!
I'm afraid to tell you that the 100% winning record for British players is over - James Ward has lost 8-6 in the final set against 20th seed Nikoloz Basilashvili. Valiant effort, but not to be for Wardy...
Elsewhere, Katie Swan is a set and a break down against Laura Siegemund, but Cameron Norrie is one set up against Denis Istomin, and it's on serve in the second set.
