South Africa vs Wales LIVE rugby: Result and reaction as Josh Adams try and Gareth Anscombe conversion make history
Follow all the reaction from Bloemfontein as Wales beat the Springboks on South African soil for the first time
Replacement fly half Gareth Anscombe kicked a late conversion from the touchline as Wales claimed their first ever away victory in South Africa with an error-strewn 13-12 success over a much-changed Springboks at the Free State Stadium.
Wing Josh Adams crossed for the only try of the game with two minutes left on the clock, leaving Anscombe with a difficult conversion to win the game, but he landed the ball through the centre of the posts to make history for Wayne Pivac’s side.
Stand-in captain Handre Pollard kicked four penalties for a Boks side that had 14 changes in their starting XV from the first test win and never found any fluency in a game where they mostly dominated territory until the final 10 minutes.
The third and deciding test in the series will be played in Cape Town next Saturday.

New Zealand 12-23 Ireland, 79 minutes
Ireland penalised for making contact in the air on the restart. Folau Fakatava taps, and goes - but the scrum-half goes nowhere.
Ireland have it! Bundee Aki again, stripping the ball from New Zealand’s hands as they launch one last, desperate offensive from deep.
Ireland are about to win in New Zealand for the first time!
TRY! NEW ZEALAND 12-23 Ireland (Will Jordan try, 78 minutes)
Or is it? Brilliant from Jordie Barrett, taking a loopy pass but squaring up Joey Carbery, beating the Irish replacement fly-half to the outside and putting away Will Jordan, who continues his remarkable try-scoring record in international rugby.
Barrett’s conversion is...no good. A minute and a half left with eleven points still to find.
New Zealand 7-23 Ireland, 76 minutes
That, surely, must be that for New Zealand’s hopes of the win. Their unbeaten record at Forsyth Barr Stadium will fall.
They will have a scrum 35 metres out after Irish hands knock on a kick that was initially charged down.
No try! New Zealand 7-23 Ireland, 75 minutes
There appear to be the long fingers of Josh van der Flier beneath the ball as Scott Barrett tries to drive over. No try!
And, as Barrett had just pushed beyond the white line, the restart will be an Irish goalline dropout and a chance for Joey Carbery to thump the ball far from the shadow of his own posts. New Zealand must attack from halfway.
TMO check... New Zealand 7-23 Ireland, 75 minutes
This time are they over? Folau Fakatava snipes sharply having spotted space but appears to be repelled. Scott Barrett looks closer. Upstairs to TMO Tom Foley for another watch of the replays...
New Zealand 7-23 Ireland, 74 minutes
Held up! What defence from Ireland! Taukei’aho was again launched from the quick tap and then it was Tu’ungafasi again, but the tighthead was somehow held off the floor by two Irish bodies over the line.
Hand on - Ireland were offside. Off go New Zealand again after another tapped penalty.
No try! New Zealand 7-23 Ireland, 74 minutes
The on-field call is no try, so the officials will need conclusive evidence that the ball has been grounded.
There is none. Held up, back for a penalty with Ireland failing to roll away two phases earlier.
Peter O’Mahony goes down again for more treatment, but will stay on to lead the defensive effort.
New Zealand 7-23 Ireland, 74 minutes
Here go New Zealand, Ofa Tu’ungafasi carrying to within a metre. Has Samison Taukei’aho got there in the next phase? The replacement hooker is close...
New Zealand 7-23 Ireland, 73 minutes
Bundee Aki has been outstanding off the bench for Ireland, over the gainline at every opportunityy and creating so much space for the rest of his team. Peter O’Mahony, too, has been a standout, the blindside making a break again after Aki’s initial hard charge.
But Sevu Reece has put out fires all night for New Zealand, attacking the ruck with expert timing to once more pilfer back the ball and keep the All Blacks fading hopes just, just about alive.
Penalty now to the hosts after a trademark weave from Will Jordan up the right. It is kicked down into the Irish 22 - New Zealand simply have to score.
Johnny Sexton lies prone after making the tackle on Jordan. He appeared to tweak something after slipping while kicking a moment ago, and trudges off in discomfort. Joey Carbery on for the denouement.
