From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Good morning and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of the second Test between New Zealand and the British and Irish Lions, brought to you from the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.
Does this explain when Ben Te'o was dropped for Jonny Sexton, with Owen Farrell moving to 12?
Warren Gatland made some big decisions in his first XV, with Sexton and Farrell showing he wants to play with some more creativity. But is that really the tactic? Or does Gatland want an extra kicker to test the All Blacks in the air in these torrid conditions?
8 mins: Just a quick word about that incredible back-of-the-hand offload from Davies after a lovely bit of skill from Sexton. The Lions look mightily impressive here. No points but a great start.
22 mins: Now a big kick from Farrell here. His kicking hasn't been great this tour and this is a tough one. AND WHAT A KICK! 3-3
30 mins: It's not this simple for the Lions though as Nowell is pinging for coming in at the side and Barrett gets a shot at goal. Watson replaces the Exeter man after his HIA as Barrett nails another kick! 6-3
33 mins: But the Lions are back level! Williams forces a knock-on and Farrell slots the kick! 6-6.
40 mins: Here we go! The second half is underway and this is the best opportunity they have had for a long, long time to beat the All Blacks.
