It will be a day to remember for Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones as the lock makes his 149th international appearance to break Richie McCaw’s record of Test appearances, with this being his 140th outing for his country on top of his nine Lions appearances. Wales fans will also look to debutant flanker Shane Lewis-Hughes, having been talked up by the skipper himself as one to watch for the future.
Scotland will be a significantly more dangerous proposition today though with the enigmatic Finn Russell back at fly-half after resolving his differences with head coach Gregor Townsend, with the Scots out to claim a rare away victory that could secure them a top-three finish in the Championship. 64 mins: France 28-20 Ireland
France think they have a penalty advantage after demolishing another scrum, and it gives them free licence to attack - however, they don’t. Ireland get over the ball and win the penalty in their red zone, only for Sexton to miss touch with the kick. It’s all going on!
61 mins: France 28-20 Ireland
That’s an absolute beauty from Robbie Henshaw! The centre takes the ball on the switch-back after the lineout is taken off the top, and he glides left before cutting through the defence and beating four, five, maybe even six defenders to score in the corner! To add to is, Sexton lands the conversion and Ireland are back in the game!
58 mins: France 28-13 Ireland
Vincent drops back into the pocket for what looks a drop-goal attempt from a long way out, but the pass to him is poor and he’s forced into contact, which Beirne then gets over and wins the turnover penalty.
57 mins: France 28-13 Ireland
Ireland simply cannot get anything going, and when they do attack the ball falls loose and is hacked downfield some 40 metres by Vincent to force the Irish all the way back to their 5m line. Keenan does very well to keep possession, avoid touch and not give away a penalty, and Murray finds touch to at least release the pressure a tad.
52 mins: France 28-13 Ireland
The fly-half kicks another penalty and France have a healthy 14-point lead.
51 mins: France 25-13 Ireland
France are dominating now. Marchand wins a penalty for holding on, and from the attack Alldritt makes a sizeable dent in the Irish defence that gets them on the front foot. They go wide to Vakatawa, and his offload in the middle just misses Fickou on the inside. However, Doris is penalised at the ensuing ruck and Ntamack has another shot at goal.
46 mins: France 25-13 Ireland
Ireland are on the ropes slightly here as they concede another penalty, and Ntamack makes no error in going for goal and splitting the uprights. The lead grows again.
45 mins: France 22-13 Ireland
What a player Antoine Dupont is! France attack from right to left, and Fickou chips ahead on the left wing before being taken out. Ireland, perhaps distracted by the potential penalty, switch off and allow Dupont to regather the ball, before the scrum-half slings the ball inside as he heads for touch to Romain Ntamack to score their third try. He misses the conversion but Ireland now need 15 points - three scores - to claim the title.
