Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Will he stay? Course he will! Another winner for Ruby Walsh and Mullins, they're like buses!
That is a popular winner, the punters are back in the mixer today that's for sure with 2 hotpots to come!
Willie Mullins will be enjoying taking a few pounds off Michael O'Leary today that's for sure. They have a friendly exchange which was great to see.
Moving on to today's feature the Sun Bets Stayers' Hurdle, and there's one of this year's Festival bankers at the top of the market.
Unowhatimeanharry will lift the proverbial roof off the house if he wins today, having cleaned up in staying hurdle events this season. He's a 5/4 favourite for this and will be most people idea of the bet of the day.
There's no shortage of worthy adversaries though, including a previous Champion Hurdle winner in Jezki. Jessica Harrington has switched him to staying events this season, and if he can come into the final quarter of the race cruising he'll be in with a big shout.
Lil Rockerfeller is also worth a look at each way having been second to today's favourite this season.
