Sony Michel's fourth-quarter touchdown proved the defining play of a game that was dominated by defences. The win, a sixth, sees the Pats equal the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most titles ever and gives quarterback Tom Brady the most-ever Super Bowls for a player.
Here's how it all played out in Atlanta:

Back to it after Brady sees something he doesn't like at the line and calls a timeout.
He goes straight to Rob Gronkowski after the break and big 87 pouches and rumbles for a first down.
Pats on the doorstep of the redzone as Brady looks for Hogan down the left sideline but the pass is broken up by Marcus Peters.
Another timeout called by TB. Wade Phillips is cooking up plenty of unusual looks already tonight.
James White rushes on third down and it only goes for four and New England will go for three.
Stephen Gostkowski then, from 46 yards.
Not a single kicker in the NFL has ever missed in this stadium in Atlanta... but this one is no good as a hooking right foot kick is never right and goes hard left and misses.
What a break for the Rams. This one is still scoreless.
This place is loud now as LA take the ball on offense once more.
Goff back and passes and finds Reynolds inside the numbers who evades a tackler and takes it to midfield for a first down.
Woods now with his first reception of the night as the Rams begin to dial up some sort of passing game.
It's been a rushing night so far.
Goff goes to the air again, and again looks for Woods but Patrick Chung flies up from his safety position and it's incomplete. Rams will punt again.
Tony Romo believes the Pats are actively choosing to run straight at Aaron Donald which seems an odd strategy to me, but what do I know.
Brady goes to Edelman on second and half a dozen and that's comfortably a first.
Brady's pass on first is in the direction of Hogan but it's tipped and Peters nearly gets his mitts on it but it falls harmlessly incomplete.
He goes back to Edelman on third and yep you've guessed it, they're moving the chains.
Brady drops back again and John Franklin-Myers beats David Andrews all ends up round the edge and that is the first sack on No 12 all postseason.
The ball is stripped in the process of the sack but Pats scramble backwards and somehow recover.
Gronk picks up five on second down but Donald has no intention of staying on the field and tears up in the middle, hits Brady whose pass falls incomplete.
New England punt for the first time tonight and we're still scoreless.
The Patriots are notoriously slow starters.
That's now just THREE points in NINE Super Bowl first quarters.
