From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Francesco Molinari surged two shots clear at the top of The Masters leaderboard on Saturday to set up another final round showdown with Tiger Woods for a major title.
It has been an almost flawless Masters for Molinari, who has carded just a single bogey through three rounds. On Sunday, the Italian turned in another error-free effort in the third round, signing for a six-under 66 to top the leaderboard at 13-under.
Molinari, the first Italian to win a major with his victory at last year's British Open, will start in pole position to claim a Green Jacket to go along with his Claret Jug.
Joining him in the last group will be Woods, who also paired with the Italian in the final round at Carnoustie, after the American electrified Augusta National with a five-under 67 that put him on the brink of ending a 11-year majors drought.
The two major champions will be accompanied by Tony Finau, who matched Woods's 11-under total with a dazzling eight-under 64 that featured a Masters-record equalling front nine of six-under 30.
With the forecast calling for heavy rain and thunderstorms late on Sunday officials have decided to send golfers off in threesomes from both the first and 10th tees rather than traditional pairs in an attempt to get the final round completed and avoid a Monday finish to the year's first major.
Lurking one shot further back is twice U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka, who scrapped his way to three-under 69 to trail Molinari by three.

Jordan Speith (-1) pulls one back on the third. Tommy Fleetwood moves to -3 with a birdie on the second.
Charley Hoffman (-3) birdied the first and Lucas Bjerregaard / JB Holmes move up to -3 with birdies at the second.
Gary Woodland and Rickie Fowler are on the course. They'll be followed by Corey Conners and Tony Finau.
Woodland and Fowler both make bogeys at the first and drop to -2. There's only a couple of people who've made really low scores so far, so it might not be easy for the leaders to break away.
One of those players is amateur Takumi Kanaya, who makes 5 straight pars on the back nine to post a score of 68.
He finishes at -1 for the week and -4 for the day.
McIlroy starts the back nine with a birdie then a bogey. It's been the story of his week whenever he gains ground he ends up throwing it away.
Charley Hoffman moves to -4 thru 4 and he's only three off the lead now.
Tony Finau (-4) birdies the first!
Patrick Cantlay impresses on 14 with his sixth birdie of the day, he moves to 4-under as well after starting the day +2.
Justin Thomas (-4) birdies the first, could he make a big move today?
