From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Your support makes all the difference.Francesco Molinari surged two shots clear at the top of The Masters leaderboard on Saturday to set up another final round showdown with Tiger Woods for a major title.
It has been an almost flawless Masters for Molinari, who has carded just a single bogey through three rounds. On Sunday, the Italian turned in another error-free effort in the third round, signing for a six-under 66 to top the leaderboard at 13-under.
Molinari, the first Italian to win a major with his victory at last year's British Open, will start in pole position to claim a Green Jacket to go along with his Claret Jug.
Joining him in the last group will be Woods, who also paired with the Italian in the final round at Carnoustie, after the American electrified Augusta National with a five-under 67 that put him on the brink of ending a 11-year majors drought.
The two major champions will be accompanied by Tony Finau, who matched Woods's 11-under total with a dazzling eight-under 64 that featured a Masters-record equalling front nine of six-under 30.
With the forecast calling for heavy rain and thunderstorms late on Sunday officials have decided to send golfers off in threesomes from both the first and 10th tees rather than traditional pairs in an attempt to get the final round completed and avoid a Monday finish to the year's first major.
Lurking one shot further back is twice U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka, who scrapped his way to three-under 69 to trail Molinari by three.

What's going on with Hatton?
He sinks two putts, a 17 footer then a 10 footer on the second and the third before making par on the fourth.
Level for the tournament, -2 for the day.
Kanaya (A) (E) doesn't really like the seventh. He made bogey there yesterday and then again today. It's a different story on the eighth though as a birdie brings him back to -3 for the round.
McIlroy's birdie attempt at the first comes up just, just short of the hole and he taps in for a par.
It's a good up and down for Leishman who left his second shot short of the green.
Cameron Smith, McIlroy's playing partner for the first two rounds, makes a birdie on the second to move into the red at -1.
It's been a remarkable turnaround for Matthew Fitzpatrick who finished at +1 yesterday despite being +6 at times.
He continues his good run of form with a birdie at the second to move level for the tournament.
McIlroy's attempts a hard draw drive on the second but manages a light fade instead. It leaves with with 308 yards to the flag on his approach shot and he leaves it way short of the green.
Leishman finds the dancefloor but will have to make a putt the length of the green for an eagle.
Keep it up Kanaya!
He finishes the front nine with a score of 32. That's 4-under for the day and he moves to -1 for the week.
McIlroy's third at the second comes from a difficult angle and he puts the ball as close as he could, which is about 10ft from the hole. It's a birdie putt though.
A disappointing second for Rory (E), his birdie putt skims the edge of the hole and he settles for par.
More joy for Leishman (-1) who makes a really solid two-putt for birdie.
Keegan Bradley and two-time champion Bubba Watson are finishing up on the first. Stenson finds the green with his second on the par-5 eighth.
Leishman and McIlroy both have birdie putts on the third.
