The Royal Rumble takes place this Sunday as one of the WWE’s flagship events returns for its 30th edition where 30 Superstars will battle for a world championship shot at WrestleMania 33.
In what is one of the year’s hotly-anticipated shows, the Royal Rumble has provided memorable moments that have gone down in WWE history, from breath-taking stunts to shock returns and surprise winners.
This year’s edition promises to be no different, with the added spice of the Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar rivalry included after both became the first entries into the Royal Rumble back in November following Goldberg’s stunning 89-second victory over Lesnar at Survivor Series.
The pair went face-to-face on the final edition of Raw this week, only to be interrupted by The Undertaker, who will also feature in the main event in the hope of claiming his second Rumble victory, while other names already confirmed include the likes of Chris Jericho, Bray Wyatt and Rumble specialist Kofi Kingston, who has developed a talent for avoiding elimination by extraordinary stunts.
Along with the Royal Rumble, the WWE Universal Championship, the WWE Championship and the WWE Raw Women’s Championship will be on the line, as well as the Raw Tag Team titles and the Cruiserweight Championship.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2017 Royal Rumble.

Henry throws Gallagher through the ropes, but as he didn't go over the top rope he's still in the match...for about 10 seconds. The Englishman jumps off the top rope and Henry promptly throws him over the top rope. Here comes Braun Strowman!
Strowman cleans house! He eliminates Rawley, Big Cass and Kalisto in quick succession, and Mark Henry soon follows. All this happens while Jericho hides behind the announcers' table, and here comes No 8 entry Sami Zayn! These two have history...
Things are getting even bigger! With Strowman already in the ring, here comes the Big Show!
Big Show chokeslams Strowman! He takes down the monster for now, just as Jericho runs back into the ring. and catches a right hand for his efforts. Big Show then picks up Strowman, only for him to fight out of it and throw the Big Show over the top rope! The biggest cheer of the night goes up as NXT star Tye Dillinger comes out!
Now this isn't fair...No 11 is James Ellsworth, and he's not even heading into the ring with Strowman standing in wait for him.
Here comes the Lunatic Fringe! Lucky for Ellsworth, who still hasn't entered the ring, Ambrose comes running out and talks Ellsworth into the ring, only for Ambrose to stay out of the ring! Strowman throws Ellsworth out of the ring like a rag doll, and now Ambrose makes his entrance.
Baron Corbin comes charging out and clotheslines Strowman over the top rope and out of the Rumble! That's only after Strowman got rid of victim No 7 in Dillinger. Here comes Kofi Kingston at No 14.
As we reach the halfway stage, out comes The Miz and he's in no rush to get down to the ring, where Ambrose, Zayn, Corbin, Kingston and Jericho - who is still outside the ring - are waiting.
What do you get when you mix Kofi Kingston and the Royal Rumble? Some ingenius way to prevent himself getting eliminated, and he does just that as he falls off the ring post only to clutch on by his fingertips. No 16 is none other than previous winner Sheamus.
