Time for the anthems...
Anthems over and done with. Australia will perform their cultural welcome before kick-off, something that they have done so before each game of this tournament, and then it's time to get the main event underway!
1 mins: KICK-OFF! AUSTRALIA GET THE RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP FINAL UNDERWAY!
1 mins: The first hit of the game sees a thumping tackle on James graham draw blood from the English prop, who has a cut besides his left eye. He's ok to continue though, and England complete the set towards halfway before Widdop kicks possession away.
3 mins: Australia reply in equal measures and kick to Widdop, who takes the ball under little pressure. England complete another set and it allows Gale to put a high ball up towards the Australian line, and the Kangaroos decide to kick early on the fourth tackle to concede possession.
5 mins: Slater gets his hands on the ball for the first time, bringing a cheer from the home crowd, but he's hit and hit hard by Brown and Roby in a double-tackle that up-ends the full-back.
7 mins: A good return from Widdop sees England start their set on the 40m line, giving them a good platform to build their attack on. Hill takes it up further, but Brown's pass to Widdop is behind him and it kills off the attack. They come back left and Gale knocks the ball on to produce the first error of the game.
9 mins: Australia put together their first good attack and Smith puts a chip in behind. Widdop sweeps across to take it, and he's hit high just in front of of his own posts. The referee fails to see it, but Gale comes up with a huge kick that is collected deep in the Australian try area. The Kangaroos are quickly up and past halfway on the fourth tackle though... and it's all kicking off!
