Costa Rica kick it all off against Serbia at 1pm BST before two of the heavy favourites make their first marks in Russia this summer.
World champions Germany start their campaign to become only the second team to retain the trophy against Mexico at the Luzhniki Stadium before Brazil, who have won this competition more than any other country, take on Switzerland in Group E.

12 minutes gone, and this game is surprisingly open early on. Giancarlo Gonzalez has just had a golden chance, heading over from just a couple of yards away. 0-0.
Approaching the half-hour mark, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic bursts in behind, taking down an over-the-top ball beautifully but his effort is tame and simply saved by Keylor Navas. It remains 0-0.
Bologna's Giancarlo Gonzalez really should have done better here.
Heavy collision between Johnny Acosta and Dusko Tosic as they compete for a bouncing ball. Both are alright to carry on, though.
