Didier Deschamps' men are by far the strongest squad of the group, but the Danes are not far behind.
While the pressure is off Les Bleus to qualify after swanning through the group stages, Denmark still need at least a draw or a win to keep Australia off their backs.
A Danish win could topple France off the top spot and with talisman Christian Eriksen in their arsenal, France will need to get it together.
William Kvist has been ruled out after being stretchered off the pitch in the game against Peru, while France's Samuel Umtiti is not set to feature thanks to a thigh problem.

Odds:
Denmark: 10/3
France: 6/5
Draw: 13/8
Prediction:
Denmark 2-1 France. France will start relaxed after their excellent performance qualified them to the last 16, but Denmark might just catch them out. There's no reason why Denmark shouldn't aim to become group winners and they might have the motivation to do so.
38 mins: DENMARK 0 - 0 FRANCE
France break away into tspace with Dembele storming forward, he lays it off to Griezmann on the edge of the area and he moves the ball onto his left foot before taking a shot. It's pretty tame though and Schmeichel gets an easy save as the ball lands straight into his hands
40 mins: PERU 1 - 0 AUSTRALIA
Ally McCoist on commentary once again claiming Australia as the better side in this first half, I don't disagree but they need to find better final balls if they are to get something out of this game. Mooy gets a free kick just outside the area but sends it over the heads of everyone
43 mins: DENMARK 0 - 0 FRANCE
The ball comes over the top of the Danish defence and Griezmann makes a good run in behind, he brings the ball down gives it to Giroud who hits it first time... but it's over the bar, Griezmann looked to be offside as well
45+2 mins: DENMARK 0 - 0 FRANCE
Yellow Card for Jorgensen, a corner for Denmark leads to Griezmann getting a breakaway and the Danish defender cannot catch him, he takes one for the team by bringing Griezmann down from behind and that'll be half-time!
Denmark doing enough so far in a rather laborious first half against France, both sides will be content with their performance but it is not a game for the neutrals
Australia have it all to do now, 45 minutes to score two goals, 45 minutes to stay in the World Cup, do we hear someone calling for a saviour?
SECOND HALF KICK OFF: PERU 1 - 0 AUSTRALIA
Yotun has been replace with Aquino for Peru and the Socceroos get us back underway, it's last chance saloon for the men from down under
50 mins: DENMARK 0 - 0 FRANCE
Griezmann finds a little pocket of space outside the Danish box, he first tries to feed it to Giroud but it is cleared, it comes back to him and he shoots but it's straight at the keeper
50 mins: PERU 2 - 0 AUSTRALIA - Guerrero
GOAL! It could be all over for Australia, Carillo gets the ball on the left and runs it into the box, his shot gets a deflection off the defender and Guerrero is the first to arrive he swings it around and finds the net
52 mins: PERU 2 - 0 AUSTRALIA
He's arrived! 38-year-old Tim Cahill is brought on for Juric, if he rescues this game for Australia there's a good chance they'll make him Prime Minister when he gets back
