This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking to kick on after Tuesday's EFL Cup quarter-final success against Newcastle United, which saw the Blues advance on penalties after Mykhailo Mudryk scored a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw. Mauricio Pochettino's men have lost their last three away league games, last losing more in a row in the competition under Claudio Ranieri in 2000 (five), though a victory here would see them cut the gap to the likes of Newcastle United, Manchester United and Brighton, all of whom have dropped points in the last few days.

This is just the second ever Premier League game to be staged on Christmas Eve, after Leeds United beat Manchester United 3-1 back in 1995. Three points will be top of Gary O'Neil's Christmas list with Wolves looking to bounce back from last week's 3-0 defeat to West Ham. The hosts have only won one of their last five Premier League games (one draw, three defeats), but have already taken the scalps of Manchester City and Tottenham on this ground in 2023-24. A victory here would take Wolves above Brentford, Fulham and Bournemouth in the table, and level with 10th-placed Chelsea!
