Follow live coverage as West Ham United face Liverpool today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Salah, as ever, has been Liverpool's talisman so far in this game, scoring his side's third and creating 0.9 xG himself already. All three of the Egyptian's shots from 12 touches in the box have been on target, while he's also created two chances from 15 final-third passes, setting up Gakpo's close-range finish and putting in two crosses. Salah has also won both of his attempted dribbles thus far and has twice turned possession over in West Ham's own third, in a dominant Liverpool display from front to back so far.

There's the half-time whistle, as a first 45 minutes to forget come to an end for West Ham, who already trail 3-0 to Premier League leaders Liverpool. The visitors have been on top in every single department thus far, racking up 1.66 xG and seeing Salah, Jones and Diaz denied before the latter opened the scoring by finishing off a chance of his own making. Further chances flowed before the Reds doubled their lead through Gakpo from close range 10 minutes later, and within another four it was 3-0, as Salah found the bottom corner to inevitably get his name on the scoresheet. The Hammers have managed just 0.10 xG at the other end and saw Paqueta skew one effort wide before Kudus rattled the post, but even with the Ghanaian looking back to his best, it's a long, long way back for the hosts in the second half.

SAVED!!! Bowen's shot from the edge of the box and Liverpool are immediately racing up the other end as Alexander-Arnold plays Salah in behind. He bears down on goal, but is forced wide by Alvarez, and his eventual effort from a tight angle is parried by Areola!
