A breathless first half sees West Ham lead Ipswich 2-1. The Hammers made a dream start, with Antonio opening the scoring after less than a minute, finishing smartly from Bowen's low cross in the first attack of the match for either side. The away side responded well and equalised soon after, as Delap continued his excellent run of form with a powerful shot which fizzed through Areola. Despite encouraging signs for McKenna's men, West Ham had the better of the chances as the first half progressed, with Kudus hitting the post and Soucek having a shot cleared off the line. They were finally able to make the pressure count towards the end of the first 45, as Kudus headed home on the rebound after Antonio's header smashed against the bar. West Ham have generated an xG of 1.31 to Ipswich's 0.43, but this contest is still very much alive for the away side.
