West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace: Odsonne Edouard was gifted an equaliser as the points were shared at the London Stadium
West Ham scored early but were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
West Ham took the lead in the 13th minute when James Ward-Prowse played a pass out wide to Vladimir Coufal on the right who cut it back to Mohammed Kudus in the area and his first time shot found the bottom corner via a small deflection.
Palace’s equaliser came in the 53rd minute with West Ham looking to play it out from the back, but a stray pass from Konstantinos Mavropanos was picked up by Odsonne Edouard who raced into the box and fired his shot into the far corner.
The home side finished stronger and had chances late on to take all three points, but Palace held out for a well-earned draw.
The Hammers remained ninth in the standings, on 21 points, while Palace moved up to 12th on 16 points.

Edouard and Olise link up well as the latter dances past the challenges of the West Ham defenders before closing in on the edge of the penalty area. He works the ball onto his right and looks to test Areola from range, but his shot lacked the power required and the goalkeeper is able to comfortably save.

What a chance! Olise floated a free-kick towards the back post and Guehi broke beyond the West Ham defence, firing it back across goal. Edouard flings himself at it from a few yards out, but Ward-Prowse manages to head it over the bar. The Palace striker was inches away from powering it into the back of the net!

Emerson is down with an injury after Ward caught him. Palace take their time to stop play, but eventually Olise delays proceedings allowing the West Ham defender to get some treatment. The medical team are on the pitch and Cresswell has been sent to warm up. However, it looks like he will be able to continue for now.

West Ham have the ball in the back of the net... but it's flagged for offside. Coufal takes a quick throw to Kudus who whips in a cross towards Soucek. The midfielder takes a swing at it but doesn't connect, and it flies into the back of the net. He didn't manage to touch it, but he was adjudged to have been interfering. It won't count.

Hodgson's side are looking to find Olise at every opportunity, with the Palace attacker having more touches of the ball than any other player in the game. However, Olise lost possession 16 times in the opening 45 minutes, so there's no doubt the Eagles will need him to up his performance if they want to get back into it. West Ham have been resolute at the back, limiting Palace to just 0.23 expected goals (xG). The next goal could be huge in this one and it wouldn't be a surprise if Hodgson makes an alteration in attack early in the second half.

West Ham go into the break with a 1-0 lead over Palace. It's been a game of limited opportunities for both sides, with the Hammers struggling to get into the opposition box. Moyes' men took the lead in the 13th minute after Coufal's perfectly-weighted cut back fell straight into the path of Kudus, who struck it first time into the bottom corner. Hodgson's side haven't had any clear-cut chances to level the scoring, but an Andersen free-kick was unfortunate to have not found the back of the net as it deflected behind for a corner. The Eagles are still in this game, but they will need more from their attacking players in the second half.
